Pałac w Policznej

Pałac w Policznej is a historic residence located in the Mazowieckie Voivodeship, Zwoleń County. This two-storey red-brick building was erected in the second half of the 19th century for the Przeździecki family. The residence was commissioned by Maria, Countess Tyzenhauz, wife of Aleksander Przeździecki. It was designed by Jerzy Werner, an engineer from Tyrol, who drew inspiration from late French Renaissance architecture – particularly the châteaux of the Henry IV and Louis XIII periods.

The illustration faithfully captures the front elevation, adorned with sandstone-banded lesenes. The building is characterised by a symmetrical arrangement of windows and refined decorative elements such as cornices, pilasters, lesenes, and window surrounds. A columned portico with a terrace highlights the main entrance. Notably, Policzna was among the first places in Poland to incorporate innovative construction techniques in the 19th century – making this palace a gem for enthusiasts of historic architecture.
