Description

Jabłonna Palace

This illustration depicts the front façade of Jabłonna Palace (Legionowo County), one of Poland’s finest examples of classical palace architecture. The palace was constructed between 1774 and 1779 according to a design by Dominik Merlini, court architect to King Stanisław August Poniatowski, and commissioned by Michał Poniatowski, Bishop of Płock.

The building represents an outstanding example of early Classicism, enriched with subtle Rococo influences visible in the refinement of architectural details and the lightness of its proportions. The symmetrical massing, rhythmic window arrangement, and calm, balanced composition of the front elevation give the palace a dignified yet harmonious character. A key element of the design is the circular central salon, significantly taller than the surrounding rooms, which defines the main axis of the entire architectural layout.

In the 19th century, the palace underwent partial reconstruction under Henryk Marconi, who introduced Ionic pilasters and decorative niches to the façade. Despite these later interventions, the original classical expression of the building was carefully preserved, making Jabłonna Palace a rare and valuable example of stylistic continuity in Polish residential architecture.

Why is this illustration worth having?

A tribute to Classicism: Depicts one of the most valuable classical residences in the Mazovia region, closely associated with the Poniatowski family.

An icon of palace architecture: The harmonious façade and symmetrical form make the palace a model example of late 18th-century Polish architecture.

Universal aesthetic: The minimalist architectural illustration complements both modern and classic interiors.

An ideal gift: Perfect for admirers of architecture, Polish history, and elegant palace forms.
