This illustration presents the façade of the late Baroque Church of St. John the Baptist in Magnuszew – a historic temple with a long and eventful past, standing in the heart of the town. The current brick church was built between 1786 and 1787 at the initiative of Konstancja Czartoryska, following the design of the well-known architect Joachim Roch Hempel. The structure features a compact, harmonious form on a rectangular plan, with a gabled roof, turret, and a calm rhythm of window openings. It is a fine example of late Baroque sacred architecture, combining the simplicity of form with a richly decorated interior. Inside, the church holds three wooden altars, beautiful paintings, numerous sculptures and artworks – including a revered image of Our Lady of Częstochowa from 1840.
