Built between 1783 and 1786 at the initiative of Bazyli Walicki, a trusted advisor to King Stanisław August Poniatowski, the palace was intended from the beginning as a distinguished family seat. The project was entrusted to Hilary Szpilowski – one of the most prominent architects of the classicist era. The symmetrical front elevation, with a four-column portico and classical pediment, represents a perfect example of harmony and proportion inspired by ancient architecture.
