This architectural artwork presents the front façade of the Cathedral Basilica of St. Michael the Archangel and St. Florian the Martyr in Warsaw, one of the most important churches on the right bank of the city and a defining landmark of the Praga district.

The church was built between 1888 and 1904 to a design by Józef Pius Dziekoński, a leading figure of Historicism and Neo-Gothic architecture in Poland. Destroyed by German forces in 1944, it was later reconstructed under the direction of Stanisław Marzyński. While the present-day façade differs in detail from the original design, it retains the characteristic Neo-Gothic expression of the building.

Its monumental, and sacred character structure, with two soaring towers rising over 75 metres, is among the most distinctive examples of Vistula Neo-Gothic. The façade is defined by strong vertical lines, pointed-arch portals, intricate tracery and rich brick detailing. Today, the basilica serves as the cathedral of the Warsaw-Praga Diocese and remains one of the key examples of late 19th-century sacred architecture in Poland.

This minimalist composition highlights the proportions of the towers and the rhythm of Gothic forms, capturing the building’s timeless presence.
